Response from Eric Metaxas on Storming of Church in Minnesota
Why We Must Stand for the Church

Religious Liberty is SACRED in America. The vile people who did this MUST be prosecuted. MUST. This is what the Gestapo did in Germany in the 1930s. And what the KGB did in the God-hating atheistic USSR. Churches are sacred. Patriots have given their lives over this issue.

Over the last few days, many of you have seen the footage of Don Lemon deliberately entering a church—not as a seeker, not with humility, but with hostility. What he did was not journalism. It was provocation.
I’ve said this plainly on X, and I’ll say it again here: this is not accidental. It is part of a broader pattern we’re seeing across our culture. The Left has grown increasingly radicalized, and its hostility toward Christianity is no longer hidden. Churches are mocked. Believers are caricatured. Sacred spaces are treated with contempt. This is not merely political. It is spiritual.
When people openly sneer at the Church, it’s not because they’ve carefully reasoned their way to truth. It’s because the Christian faith stands as a rebuke to lies—about God, about morality, about the nature of reality itself. And that has always made it a target.
The Founders understood this dynamic well. That’s why, as we mark America’s 250th year, we’re returning to one of the most important books ever written for moments like this: Thomas Paine’s Common Sense.
Paine warned against moral confusion and cowardice dressed up as tolerance. He wrote words that speak directly to our moment:
“A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being right.”
That sentence explains so much of what we’re seeing today—when hostility toward the Church is excused, when mockery is normalized, and when believers are told to stay quiet for the sake of “civility.”
At Socrates in the City, we exist to do the opposite. We name things clearly. We ask hard questions. And we stand for truth—even when it’s costly.

Planned Parenthood Clinics
Shutting Down Across America

Lord, protect unborn lives, strengthen leaders to uphold truth, and let America turn fully toward valuing every child You create.
The pro-life movement is witnessing one of its greatest national victories in decades. Following the passage of President Trump’s budget reconciliation “Big, Beautiful Bill,” which includes a measure defunding abortion providers of Medicaid dollars, dozens of Planned Parenthood clinics have closed or are preparing to close their doors.

According to SBA Pro-Life America, at least 41 Planned Parenthood facilities have already shut down or will soon, with projections that as many as 200 clinics could ultimately be forced to close. This comes as taxpayer support for abortion businesses is being phased out. SBA president Marjorie Dannenfelser called the measure “the biggest national pro-life victory since the Dobbs decision.”

The impact of this shift cannot be overstated. For years, Planned Parenthood received nearly half a billion dollars annually in Medicaid reimbursements, even though federal law prohibits direct funding of abortions. While the Hyde Amendment blocks federal dollars from paying for abortions themselves, pro-life advocates have long argued that funneling money to abortion providers indirectly sustains their operations. The new law aims to end that practice.

Planned Parenthood is fighting back in court. The abortion giant has filed suit against the Trump administration, and a federal judge appointed by former President Barack Obama has temporarily blocked the defunding measure while litigation continues. Planned Parenthood has claimed that 200 of its facilities could be at risk, but for pro-life Americans, this represents a long-overdue correction in federal policy.
The closures reveal another important truth: Planned Parenthood’s non-abortion services have dramatically declined in recent years. Cancer screenings, pap smears, and breast exams have fallen by more than 50 percent, while contraceptive services are down almost 40 percent. Meanwhile, community health centers outnumber Planned Parenthood clinics by a ratio of 15 to 1 nationwide, offering more comprehensive care to women and families without ending the lives of unborn children.

Planned Parenthood’s own annual report highlights the stark contrast: in 2023–2024, the organization performed a record 402,230 abortions while receiving $792 million in taxpayer funding — a near $100 million increase from the prior year. At the same time, abortion numbers climbed, and life-saving health services shrank.

Pro-life leaders are hopeful that this defunding marks a turning point. With more states, like South Carolina and Oklahoma, successfully blocking Medicaid dollars from flowing to abortion providers, momentum is building across the nation.

Restrict Availability of Abortion Pill

-
Getting rid of the RU 486 pill would be huge, and we PRAY for the States bringing this action, and that the LORD shows them the way that might lead to a victory in their Standing for Life on this proceeding and journey.
-
We will further PRAY that Christians across this Nation might join them by PRAYING and asking for the LORD'S ALMIGHTY help.
